BIO: Giuliano G. Castellano
Giuliano G. Castellano is an Associate Professor and a Deputy Director at the Asian Institute of International Financial Law (AIIFL) at the University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Law, where he teaches and conducts research in the field of law and technology with specific emphasis on financial regulation, regulatory compliance, and law and development. He holds a Law Degree (Bocconi University, Italy), a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences (Ecole Polytechnique, Paris), and a PhD in Comparative Law (University of Turin). Giuliano has published in renowned scholarly journals and his research received support from competitive grant schemes in Europe and in Hong Kong. His research has been informing the work of international organisations, regulatory authorities, and central banks. He has been serving as a delegate and as an expert for UNCITRAL and UNIDROIT, and under the lead of the World Bank Group, he has been involved in the implementation of legal and regulatory reforms to promote financial inclusion in different jurisdictions across Asia-Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and Northern Africa, and Sub-Sharan Africa.

Jamilya Kamalova is a researcher at Kleros.io, specializing in decentralized dispute resolution. She is a PhD candidate in Blockchain & Law, affiliated with Kleros.io, Blockchaingov.eu, and Université Paris 2 Panthéon Assas. Jamilya has been accepted for the Adam Smith Fellowship, a co-sponsored program of the Mercatus Center and Liberty Fund, Inc., for the academic year of 2023-2024. Additionally, she has been selected to participate in the Visiting Scholars Scheme at HKU (Hong Kong) during the fall semester of 2023/2024, where she will engage in academic exchange, refine her research, and advance her analysis.
